Hunter’s Hike 2023

Join us on Saturday July 22nd for the 2nd Annual Hunter’s Hike on Rib Mountain!
In 2023 we’ll be expanding the hike and offering three seperate hike opportunities!
CHOOSE YOUR HIKE:
The Road Stroll – For the beginner wanting to get their journey to better hunting fitness will comprise of hiking up and down the Park Road walkway. This paved path provides the beauty of Rib Mountain starting at the observation tower, descending to the park entrance and returning back. Approx 5 miles with 700 ft of elevation.
The Trail Hike – Our most popular activity
The trail hike takes us through the diverse terrain of Rib Mountain. You’ll experience elevation climb and decent, standing forest, beautiful rock formations and views across Marathon County. This hike is just shy of 6 miles with almost 1400 ft of elevation!

King of the Hill – The Power & Endurance Challenge!
Grab your pack, add some weight and prepare to climb! Rib Mountain offers some of the fastest elevation gain and descent in the area and we’re going to put you to the test! HOW IT WORKS – You the hiker will grab their pack and gauge how much weight they want put in their pack.
THE OBJECTIVE hike up and down our course as many times as you can in 1 HOUR. That is HALF of your score. The second half of your score will be based on your pack weight with your pack weight % of body mass as the score.
MEETING LOCATION: Parking and registration will be at the top of Rib Mountain near the observation tower. Mention that you are part of the hike for a special $5.00 parking rate to those who do NOT have a state park pass.
REGISTRATION: 7AM – 7:30AM followed by a short introduction and hike to start by 8:00AM
PRICE: $25.00
Includes “swag bag” with various donations from sponsors valued at over $40! Also a free Hunter’s Hike t-shirt to those who register before July 4, and a raffle ticket to be used at Chase Outdoors on the day of the event to win one of many prizes.
A portion of the proceeds of the event will be donated to the Friends of Rib Mountain.
