Security Fences are up as Excavators Head West in Wausau Center Mall Demolition

June 15, 2021

Wausau Center Mall demolitionYou may have noticed that the Sears exterior walls are down. In place of the exposed north wall in the parking ramp, construction crews installed a security fence on the 2nd floor. The ramp is open and available for parking.

Crews are steadily making progress as they continue razing the Wausau Center Mall. “It’s business as usual this week,” said Chuck Ghidorzi, managing director of Wausau Opportunity Zone, Inc. “We should be done cleaning up Sears soon and moving into the mall to the west.”

The two parking ramps and HOM Furniture, one of the largest furniture retailers in the upper Midwest, will remain in place and operating during the Wausau Center Mall demolition and redevelopment. See photos below and watch a video of the Sears wall coming down and more demolition videos here.
