Third Street in Downtown Wausau will be closed part of Tuesday and most of Wednesday while city crews remove the lights and install the popular umbrella display between Washington and Jefferson Streets. Third street will also be closed during Dining on the Street which starts this week.
3rd Street Closure for Umbrella Installation:
Tuesday, June 8 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Wednesday, June 9 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The City of Wausau will have signs up to reroute traffic during these times. Your patience is appreciated while these attractions are set up for the summer.
3rd Street Closure for Dining on the Street:
Dining on the Street starts this summer when parts of Third Street close on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. On both days, streets will close at 4 p.m. for set up.
As part of the summer event series, Dining on the Street allows restaurants to gain dining space on the sidewalks and street around storefronts. Restaurants and stores located around the Wausau Center Mall will remain open during mall demolition this summer.
