Never Forgotten Honor Flight 5k Run/Walk + Bock Fest
April 15 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Join us in celebrating our 14th Anniversary of the Bull Falls Brewery Bock Fest and Never Forgotten Honor Flight 5K Run/Walk!
NEVER FORGOTTEN HONOR FLIGHT:
Our veterans are an integral part of our society. It is in their honor that we invite you to help us support these courageous people. A portion of the proceeds for this event will be donated to the Never Forgotten Honor Flight. This organization is committed to fly our World War II, Korean, and Vietnam War veterans to Washington, D. C. to view their memorials at no cost to the veterans. The amount needed, per veteran sponsored, is $500. For more information about Honor Flight, please see their website – http://www.neverforgottenhonorflight.org. There will be additional opportunities to make donations throughout the afternoon. To date, this event has attracted more than 12,000 participants the last 10 years and has raised over $120,000! Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Thank you! Click here if you are interested in sending someone you know on the Honor Flight.
RULES OF THE ROAD:
The entire race route is planned on OPEN city streets and crossings, use caution! Volunteer Race officials will be wearing orange or yellow vests, please obey race officials and yield to emergency vehicles. THERE ARE SOME HILLS. Approach them based upon your experience and comfort level in running or walking. Any participant on the course after 1:30 pm will need to finish course route on their own, as all Event Staff will be back at the brewery enjoying the Bull Falls Bock Fest at that time. Again, Thank you!!
BOCK BUSTER ROUTE:
The BOCK BUSTER race course is a run-only route. Although we understand if you walk a few steps to get to the top of that first hill. We know, it’s a killer. You will follow the run/walk course out of the Start and head east on McIntosh for 1.55 miles, turn around and come back the same way. There is a 45 mph section on the course, so keep your head up for passing vehicles! Don’t be afraid to give this route a try. It’s tough, but just think how good the beer will taste when you’re done! Note: On the course map there is not a water station on the Bock Buster Route.
Both the 5K and Bock Buster routes will begin at 12:00 p.m. A ceremony will begin at 11:45 that will honor our Veterans and cover important race day announcements. Please be in the starting area prior to announcements. Course time limit is 90 minutes.
Restroom facilities will be near the start/finish line and in the beer garden. A water station will be located just before mile 1 and you will pass it again after mile 2. Note: There is no water station on the BOCK BUSTER route. 5K Route turn around street is a left turn onto Lincoln Ave. Strollers and baby joggers are permitted and must start at the rear of the group. Dogs are allowed on course route, provided they are on a short leash and start in the rear of the group. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the beer garden area.
A 2023 run shirt is included with your registration; these are guaranteed only to those registered by March 27th, 2023. If you do not sign up by this date you may not receive one. Post-race snacks will be provided at the end of the run. You will receive a drink ticket** attached to your BIB to be used for a beer, wine or soda. You will need to have your ID to receive a wristband and proof of age will be required for complimentary beer/wine. Participants under 21 will receive soda. Volunteers will be checking IDs and handing out wristbands on Saturday morning starting at 10am. We encourage you to take care of this early to avoid the rush after the run
**Drink ticket cannot be redeemed for beer-to-go, food, or merchandise! They have no cash value.
We heard your requests for chip timing this event and are happy to announce chip timing will be provided thanks to Tortoise and Hare timing services and our sponsors! (Tortoise and the Hare is a contributing sponsor for the timing system, additional sponsorships are available providing great visibility, please inquire if you are interested) Both the 5K and Bock Buster routes will be professionally timed for all runners and walkers!
All registered participants will receive a bib number that must be worn on race day. Please do not alter the bib in any way. The bib must be visible and worn on the front, outer layer of all clothing during the entire race.
Registrations are non-transferable.
DIVISIONS AND AWARDS:
With the addition of chip timing, we will be able to capture additional divisions along with the overall first place finishers in each category. Divisions will be announced soon!
To reduce the start line congestion, you will see a change with the location of the start. Bock Buster runners and 5K competitive runners will be asked to corral in the front. Please pay attention to signage and race day announcements!
As usual all walker, strollers, participants with dogs, strollers, etc. will start in the last corral.
